Manager's message

Image of the Entrance wayCaloundra Rise Retirement Estate boasts a vibrant community of residents and a strong potential for continued growth in its property and investment value.

The manager, Trevor Holt, talks about the goings on of the last year…

Since last year our Estate has grown from 77 units to 105 units. At full occupancy we will have 174 residents.

Stage 5 of the Estate's development was built in two stages, 16 and 12 units, and every unit was sold before completion. For stage 6 we have a new architect and some new plans to incorporate three stand-alone units and ten duplex units with double garages.

All of the 19 units in Stage 6 have already been sold off the plan and we expect to finish them this year. Last September our choir, ‘Vintage Voice’, was formed under the leadership of a professional teacher. Twenty residents practiced and performed in the annual Carols on Kings – a production that attracts thousands to the Kings Beach Amphitheatre.

Our residents’ social committee works very hard to ensure that everyone has their input into decision making and to provide a variety of social activities to keep everyone busy and entertained.

We run a coffee shop every Tuesday and Thursday in our Caloundra Rise Chatty Chinos Café. Residents bake yummy cakes and slices to serve with the coffee and the number of café goers increases weekly. Even the architects look forward to their fortnightly meeting and cappuccino!

One of our residents, a lover of photography, continually puts on lovely photos of everyone’s holidays and activities, pets and local interest scenes.

Our outdoor veggie patch (photo left) continues to produce wonderful kilos of tomatoes, beans, carrots, beetroot, cauliflower, lettuce and herbs. Fresh produce is available on Tuesdays and Fridays for the cost of a gold coin.

Alongside the garden and path is a bowling strip where our residents enjoy friendly rivalry during their regular bowling competitions.

To help keep costs of purchasing meals down, we recently acquired a food trolley that delivers meals door-to-door by over 30 resident volunteers every fortnight.

The arrival of our 25-seater bus had residents very excited and has been used for mystery trips, shopping, monthly concerts and breakfast at Cocos. As the Estate grows, the bus will continue to be an asset to our community.

Our residents’ social committee works very hard to ensure that everyone has their input into decision making and to provide a variety of social activities to keep everyone busy and entertained.

Congratulations and well done!
